One of the most powerful intricacies of Edgewood is the purposeful connections we make with the families of our students. Our Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) classes begin on September 29. These classes are for both students, as young as newborn infants, and families to learn parenting skills and strategies, as well as provide friendship and camaraderie. I have had so many families tell me over the past few weeks how deeply thankful they were for the opportunity they had to participate in ECFE classes to best connect with other families and to know others are going through similar circumstances.
Our Circle of Friends preschool classes literally bring hundreds of students through our doors each day. While we are aware of long lines in the drop off and pickup, it is also a testament to the increasing popularity and reputation of the stellar programming we have here at Edgewood. It is very rewarding to see our youngest learners' curiosity tapped as they make meaningful relationships with our fabulous Edgewood staff.
Our Spanish immersion program, La ola del lago, is now a reality for students and families here in Prior Lake - Savage Area Schools. After literally years of planning, studying, researching, and listening to community members, we can proudly call Edgewood home to the 64 La ola del lago Kindergarten students families. I could not be more pleased with how the first few weeks of school have gone.
For many students and families, Edgewood is their first exposure to the Prior Lake - Savage Area Schools’ system. Our overarching goal is that everyone feels welcomed and encouraged to be a part of district for a long time to come. We look forward to continuing to serve our community.
Edgewood really is a great place to be a student! Thanks for being on this journey with us.
